Country Tonite with Marty Haggard

Marty Haggard will do a tribute to Merle Haggard - His Dad
Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Marty Haggard began his formal career as a country music singer in 1979. In 1981, he signed with Dimension Records and cut his first single, "Charleston Cotton Mill." He traveled with his Dad's band, "Merle Haggard and The Strangers", from 1983 to 1985. In 1986, Haggard signed with MTM Records. It released Trains Make Me Lonesome, which won him a nomination by the Academy of Country Music as Top New Male Vocalist.
